Fazl demands Blasphemy Law bill removal

KARACHI: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Saturday demanded the government to take back a private bill regarding Blasphemy Law presented in National Assembly.

Addressing a press conference at a local hotel here after a conference with heads of religious parties, the action against religious seminaries and madaris is based on government’s dishonesty.

Various leaders including Jamat-e-Islami chief Syed Munawwar Hasan, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan’s Sahibzada Abul Khair Zubair and Maulana Hafeez Jalindhary attended the conference.

‘Action against religious forces and their seminaries is being intensified; however, we want to clarify that such stratagems are unbearable,’ Maulana Fazl said adding the recent incidents of Karachi violence are a conspiracy to stop Tahaffuz Namoos-e-Risalat rally and sabotage the conference in this regard.

JUI-F leader demanded the government to take back a private bill tabled in connection with Blasphemy Law and dissolve a committee established by President regarding Blasphemy Law to ascertain the culpability.
