Khatme Nabuwat challenges civil society

STAFF CORRESPONDENT

International Khatme Nabuwat Movement Bangladesh (IKNMB), the anti-Ahmadiyya outfit, yesterday asked the civil society either to fight a war against them or stop speaking for the Ahmadiyyas.

“Come, if you have the courage, defeat us in war,” Noor Hossain Nurani, nayebe amir of IKNMB, challenged the civil society members from a rally at Nabisco Intersection in Tejgaon yesterday.

Addressing them as murtad, he said, “Fifty lakh jihadi Muslims will fight you until rooting you out of this land of 14 crore Muslims.”

“We won’t spare anyone, who supports the non-Muslim Kadianis (Ahmadiyyas),” he threatened from the rally held after Friday prayers yesterday.

Renewing the call for legislation to declare the Ahmadiyyas non-Muslims, he also demanded punishment to the policemen responsible for ‘attacking’ Khatme Nabuwat activists, who gathered near Ahmadiyya headquarters in Bakshibazar on August 20.

The religious extremists also warned the US FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) and Interpol personnel to stay aloof from religious issues in Bangladesh. Otherwise, they (FBI and Interpol) will incur wrath of the ‘huge religious population’ of the country.
