Kadiani mosque attacked, 30 injured
SATKHIRA, Apr 18:–Hundreds of Khatme Nabuat Movement followers pulled down the signboard of Kadiani mosque, ransacked houses and left 30 people injured at Jatindranagar on Sunday, reports UNB.
The militant followers broke the police cordons at different points and assembled at Banosree High School ground of Harinagar at 10am. After the rally they paraded with sticks in hand and chanting slogans towards the Kadiani mosque at Jatindranagar where live several thousand people of the community.
Bambo barricade of the police at Vetkhali stopped the militants 1.5km away from the destination. There the leaders negotiated with police that a group would reach the Kadiani mosque and replace the signboard with Khatme Nabuat Movement.
Eyewitness said it was done with the help of the police hurting the religious sentiment of the Kadiani community. Their feeble protests was overwhelmed by the stick-wielding militants, who attacked and plundered the houses leaving about 30 people including women injured in the process. Paramilitary BDR came in from the rear, rescued the victims and quelled the situation.
